Kilmory Farm House is a stone built traditional West of Scotland steading, integrating the original farm house, farm worker’s cottage and farm buildings.
Dating from the early 19th century, the house stands in ½ an acre of mature gardens, and is located just east of Kilmory village.
Up to 1975 Kilmory Farm was a working farm. Since its time as a farm the property has been sympathetically restored by subsequent owners to create a characterful and attractive family home with all modern facilities. Throughout the property many of the original features have been retained, for example the original pine doors, exposed beam ceilings and refurbished pine flooring providing a homely atmosphere.
The last significant work on the house included roof renovation; improved roof and wall insulation; replacement double glazed windows; inclusion of central heating; updates to the plumbing and electrical systems; and installation of fibre broadband.
Upon entering Kilmory Farmhouse, the front door opens onto the entrance porch and inner hall. Off the hall to the right is the dining room leading on to the galleried lounge. To the left of the hall is the family farmhouse style kitchen. Adjoining the kitchen is the rear hallway from which a utility room and walk in larder are accessed. Beyond the hall is the study with views to the adjacent fields. A south-east facing sun lounge leads off from the study, and in turn provides access to a shower room and the master bedroom with its ensuite bathroom.
The upper floor provides three further double bedrooms and the family bathroom. All of these rooms enjoy beautiful rural or sea views.
A double garage, with power, light, water and pedestrian door access is appended to the house.
At the back of the house there is an enclosed glass sun room doubling as a boot room. There is a further glass house for plant propagation.
